Forest Weaving with Alice Hume
September 16, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Open Studios this September are offering an exclusive opportunity to join Alice Hume on the Hotwalls Parade Ground and assist her creating a large forest weave.
Alice is a Textile Artist who studied Fashion and Textile Design at Winchester School of Art where she specialised in Woven Textiles. After Graduating Alice and her father collaborated to make handmade frame looms called Hume Looms from recycled wood which she uses to teach weave workshops. Alice now creates contemporary woven wall hangings and interior pieces at her studio at Hotwalls using unusual materials of copper, raffia, recycled denim and driftwood.
Alice will be outside from 11:00-16:00 with a variety of natural materials that need to be added to this creation. It’s your turn to make the art at Hotwalls Studios this month!
All studios will be opened collectively from 11:00-16:00 allowing you to speak to all of our artists, browse and buy their work and even commission your own pieces. there will be live music as well as delicious food served from our onsite eatery The Canteen.
