Jigsaw Linocut workshop

Learn how to create a multi-coloured linocut through the jigsaw technique in this 4-hour workshop, no previous experience required.

A jigsaw linocut uses one piece of lino, which is cut into separate ‘jigsaw’ pieces. The pieces are inked up in different colours, placed back together and printed in one layer.

In a relaxed environment and under close tuition with Frankie, you’ll learn how to break down an image to make an effective jigsaw linocut. You’ll learn how to make a colour plan and how to separate the ‘pieces’ of your jigsaw linocut. You’ll then carve away, ink up and print. At the end of the session, you’ll print a small edition of your jigsaw linocut to take home with you.

Some prior experience with linocut would be beneficial for this workshop, but it’s not necessary. We’ll go through the session step-by-step, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
