Learn how to experiment with colour through layering multiple lino blocks in this 4-hour workshop.
A jigsaw linocut uses one piece of lino, which is cut into separate ‘jigsaw’ pieces. The pieces are inked up in different colours, placed back together and printed in one layer.
A multiblock linocut uses several blocks of lino. With accurate registration of the blocks, you can create layers of colour within a print. Each block can represent a different colour, or they can overlap to create more.
In a relaxed environment and under close tuition with Frankie, you’ll first create a key block for your print. You’ll learn how to transfer your key block across another block, and create further layers of colour. You’ll learn how to register your blocks to make a perfect print. At the end of the session, you’ll print a small edition of your multiblock linocut to take home with you.
All skill levels are welcome to attend, including beginners. For more info and to book, go to: https://frankiebrown.co.uk/workshops/p/multiblock-linocut
