Reduction Linocut

Learn how to create a colourful layered print through the process of elimination in this 4-hour workshop.

A reduction linocut uses just one block of lino to create multiple layers of colour. The block is reduced with each layer of printing, ultimately destroying the block and leaving you with a small but perfectly formed edition of linocut prints.

In a relaxed environment and under close tuition with Frankie, you’ll learn how to break down an image and create a layer plan. You’ll carve and print the block, layer by layer, until reaching the final layer. You’ll learn how to register your block to make a perfect print. At the end of the session, you’ll have printed a small edition of your reduction linocut to take home with you.
