Death’s Head Hawkmoth Pinning Workshop

Join Hannah in her Hotwalls studio for a hands-on experience preserving ethically sourced Death’s Head Hawkmoths. These specimens are well known for their distinctive skull shaped markings on the thorax and you may also recognise them for their role in the film “The Silence of the Lambs.” During this event you will be guided step by step on the pinning process, learning about the tools needed and techniques using them. No previous knowledge is required for this class and you will leave with your own two ethically sourced Death’s Head Hawkmoth specimens, entomology pins and pinning board.
